DJ-Rough

DJ Rough the voice of WENX radio, is also the owner/producer. Never one to shy away from a challenge Rough has created the brand, WE NEXT radio'. Born Sean Todd from Cross roads,  St. Andrew Jamaica. His appreciation for music started at 37 Hyde Park road Kingston Jamaica where his cousins would have a session at the house every Friday, playing all the latest in Reggae and RnB. He migrated to the US in 82 and bought his first turntables and the odyssey began. Rough was bit with the Producing bug and began building a recording studio in his home in Connecticut. The studio saw a lot of local talent pass through it, some have gone on to accomplished careers. Rough also began recording remotely in Jamaica and the UK and was a pioneer in using a laptop and a great mic section to do his mobile work, at first this recording method was ridiculed but now it has become a industry standard. In 2004 he moved to Florida and built a state of the art studio called 'Roughcut Sounds' and focused on producing music. As a vehicle for promoting the new works and to promote good music that was being stifled by the main stream radio, WENX internet radio was born in March 2011. DJ Rough host a regular Saturday show called 'Rough-cut Vibes', it showcases conscious reggae music with a spiritual vibe. Tune in every Saturday 8am to 12pm for good clean music.
